Business Terms
Purchase and payment
A non-refundable deposit of 5% of the agreed purchase price will be required to confirm the purchase of a car. Payment of the balance of the purchase price must be within two weeks of receipt of the deposit or by other mutual arrangement.
For the avoidance of doubt, where a potential customer fails to pay a deposit or the full purchase price, or, having paid a deposit, subsequently does not pay the balance of the purchase price within the above period, title to the car will continue to be with A1 Classic Cars and it will be regarded as available for sale and may be sold to another customer who satisfies the terms of purchase.
We accept payment in Euros or Pounds sterling in cash, bankers draft, bank transfer or pre-cleared cheque.
Part exchange of similar quality cars is welcomed and we can arrange for collection of the donor car.
Because not all of our cars are kept in one location it would be appreciated if viewing of a particular car is arranged before travelling to our showroom.
Delivery and storage
We are happy to arrange delivery of a car at home or abroad by one of our accredited Transporters at a competitive price.
Following receipt of full payment cars will be stored by us for a maximum of one month after which storage rates will apply.
Condition and use of the Car
Classic cars are collector’s items which are quintessentially second-hand goods and as such have age-related imperfections not present in newer cars. Unlike modern cars they are not sold as an optimal means of transport. They may contain non-original parts, components or finishes. Our cars are sold in good faith and we inform potential buyers of any known failings but, like other classic car traders, we offer no guarantee as to a car’s condition, history (incl. mileage), or performance. We always try to describe our cars as accurately as possible but faults can develop, especially after a period of not being used, which buyers should be prepared for as part of the classic car ownership experience. Inspection by independent assessor is advised where the client has particular concerns.
A purchaser is solely responsible for complying with all legal requirements of vehicle ownership and use. A purchaser is required to acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.
