This Porsche 924 Coupe has had just five owners from new including the vendor since 2024. It is finished in dark blue (Copenhagen blue/LY5B) with brown pinstripe seats and brown carpets and dash and is an original, standard UK market car.

The paintwork is solid and there are no major flaws. It could be improved by a couple of hours with a gentle cutting compound and a professional polish but is perfectly fine as it is. The body itself is extremely sound and the sills, wheelarches, etc are sharp and not rusty. The original alloys are in great condition and suit the car. They’re fitted all round with Michelin Green X Energy Savers all with over 7mm of tread and a Pirelli spare.
Inside, the “leather” and fabric and carpeting are in excellent condition and are enhanced by the presence of honeycomb overmats and the (frequently missing) roof panel storage bag. There are the usual 924/944 cracks on the dash, but this has been covered by a (removable) Club Autosport matching hard dash cover which enhances the overall appearance of the interior. The electric windows, mirrors, rear wiper and sunroof all operate, as do the pop-up headlights. The original radio/cassette is present, although the radio doesn’t appear to work. The electric tailgate release can be temperamental, but the glass lid opens with the key, allowing full access. The boot cover is present and working. The driver’s side door lock has been replaced and the external handle requires an extra firm pull but it opens and locks fine.
The car has been well maintained over the years with many servicing and parts receipts since the start of this century. The belts were changed at approx 69k in 2019 and they were checked again this year. Recently serviced, plus new battery, in June 2026 by a sportscar specialist. For peace of mind, it comes with a fresh MoT to June 2027 (two small advisories). A new owner will be able to record the status as historic, so it comes with an MoT despite being exempt. The car drives well, starting, stopping and changing gears as it should.
The original service record contains 8 stamps between 1985 and 1991 with four further stamps in 2021, 2024, 2025 and 2026. There is a file of receipts, MoTs and V5 and the mileage is confirmed at just over 72k. Besides the driver’s handbook there is a Haynes manual and an Essential Buyer’s Guide for this model.
This is a great opportunity to acquire a genuine low mileage example of Porsche’s first water cooled, front-engined, rear drive trailblazer. Ignore the “experts” commenting about van engines and read the history of development of the transaxle cars for yourself and how this car was a sales success and progenitor of the 944 range.
