Only 761 Silver Dawns were produced over 1948-1955 of which a minority were RHD with Auto transmission. This car is in Show Condition all round and runs superbly. It has been laid up and has covered only 1000 miles in the last 43 years.
It was supplied by H.R. Owen Ltd of London in January 1954 and had three owners in the home counties before being exported to Colts Neck, New Jersey. It remained in this area as the showpiece of a car collector until its return to the UK in 2015 and acquisition by The Real Car Company, Bethesda, Wales. They reclaimed the original registration of SMB 3 and sold it to its current owner, a prominent Scottish motoring group founder.
The car was refurbished and sprayed to a superb quality in shell grey over masons black. The interior is grey hide with black piping and the woodwork was French polished. On the road it cruises silently with none of the wallowing sometimes experienced. The engine bay and underneath are totally solid and original. It comes with build sheets and history, tools and handbook and is a joy to behold. We are selling the car on behalf of the owner.
