1961 Riley 1.5 in exceptional condition. Fitted with a 1.8 MGB engine (a popular swap), 5-speed box, power steering and subtly wider steel wheels.
Wheels and gear stick aside, the car looks externally and internally stock and is in lovely condition and proves a great drive. Very practical classic and ideal show car, it has a good history file.
I have approx 50 decent detailed photos of the Riley which I can make available to any enquirer by wetransfer.
The Riley has a fat file of invoices and information attesting to a restoration in the 2010s, including installation of the MGB engine, Ford gearbox and Vauxhall power steering, improved lighting etc, plus lots of MoTs in recent years (last one expired just a few months ago and no longer required of course), an original “Riley One-Point-Five Operation Manual” and a V5 with the correct replacement engine size and colour scheme. The engine bay is very good and the interior is lovely, complementing the exterior and the leather and wood make this a great place to be. To my mind this is an ideal compromise between a wholly original classic and a car you could use pretty much every day if you wished or else take to shows. It is much admired and genuinely interested parties won’t be disappointed.
