A pretty pre-war saloon with beautiful lines but in barn-find condition. It is however running and stopping with most things working and a current MoT. It thus needs general TLC skills rather than heavy engineering work. A car well-worth preserving and the horrible green wheels repainting in the more correct grey. The MG VA with its 1.5 litre tuned engine is the smallest of the late 30’s MG Saloons and fairly rare with only 2400 being produced from 1937 to 39. They now fetch good prices.
This car was first registered in Sussex and spent its early life in the south according to the buff log book, eventually finding its way to Cardiff. Stored in a dry garage for 30 years, it was rescued and MoT’d in 2010 but then once again lay in a garage until we purchased it recently.
We already have two projects and have decided to pass this car on. Many parts are common with other 1930’s cars. The body is solid with some treatable bubbles on the wings. The interior is original and needs at least partial refurbishing, the original dials are present and the indicated 45k miles is probably correct. The chassis is solid and engine runs well.
